Making Something out of Nothing - 04/16/12

So this week was really cool. We saw a pretty big miracle in our area. So first off, this area hasn´t had any success in over a year. The members don´t trust the Elders, and the Elders weren´t working correctly. Basically, long story short, no baptisms in over a year, no progressing investigators, no excitement. Me and Elder L were called to basically make something out of nothing.

We came in super humble and prayerful. We´ve been praying to find the people that are ready to hear our message. We received a reference from one of the members. Turns out her husband, Eliazer, isn´t a member. (not for long!) He received the Elders earlier, but told them that he couldn´t be baptized because he didn´t believe in modern day prophets, LDM, and being baptized 2 times. We taught it simply and with a huge focus in the Holy Ghost and the purpose it plays in our lives as a guide of the truth. We taught the principle of Moroni 10 for about a week.  No, I´m not exaggerating, and this past Thursday it played off. We were in Ward Counsel, and my comp turns to me and saws ¨We've got to go see Eliazer¨. I said Are you CRAZY? The bishop is talking and its raining cats and dogs! But I felt it too, so we went. Turns out he received his answer to his prayers. He said about 3 or 4 words and broke down crying. Holy cow, it was pretty amazing. Everyone could feel the spirit in that room. Now he knows.

So this Saturday we have a baptism. We´re singing a special musical number with the other Elders, we´re going to have refreshments and everything. I think this is the most planning I´ve put into a baptism, and I like it! I feel bad that I didn´t do stuff like this before, but I guess that's life, continual progression.

Other than that, life is pretty normal. Teaching, preaching, knocking doors, etc. I love you guys a ton. Prayer works!
